On July 4th, Jackie Greene handled the opening duties at Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre prior to Blues Traveler and Leftover Salmon‘s sets. Greene has shared full pro-shot video of his recent Red Rocks performance, which saw longtime friend and collaborator Bob Weir join Jackie for parts of his set.
As they previously did at a May 8th Golden State Warriors playoff game, Bob Weir helped Jackie Greene open up his show with an a capella performance of “The Star Spangled Banner”. Sans Weir, Greene led his bandmates through his own “I’m So Gone” and “Tupelo” before Weir reemerged onstage to assist on a cover of The Temptations‘ “Shakey Ground” and the Grateful Dead‘s “Sugaree”. Jackie and his band moved on with “I Don’t Live In A Dream” and “Animal”, which both appear on 2008’s Giving Up The Ghost LP. Following a cover of The J.B.’s “Doing It To Death”, Jackie brought things to a close with a pairing of “Hollywood” and “Hallelujah”.
